31 Day Movie Meme Challenge - Day 2: A Movie More People Should See
I know this is not the best answer because a lot of movies are way better. But since it’s 2012, more people should see…2012.
If you are not aware, the Mayans believed that the world will end on the 21st of December 2012. Now, hold the phone! That’s like 11 months away from now! Damn! More people should see that movie!!
Promise, it will help you on doomsday — where to go and where not to, imitate John Cusack’s stunts and lines and pretend that there’s no hope in the end (you should have seen the end of the film. There’s still hope).

31 Day Movie Meme Challenge - Day 1: A Sequel that Shouldn’t Have Been Made
Lion King should never had a sequel. Unfortunately, it did have one. However, to be fair enough, the story should go on! I mean, Simba has to mate with Nala and produce a couple of young. What’s the point of “lion marriage” in part one if the two lions can’t produce their own — thus, Lion King II: Simba’s pride! Simba is now the alpha male and like any other typical leader, he is stressed to keep his pride strong and away from the outsiders. The outsiders are, of course, Scar’s pride.
Now, this is the weird thing. In the first movie, Scar didn’t have any pride. He was an outsider and no family or group was ever mentioned. He was so lonely, he convinced himself that his family was a bunch of hyenas. So yeah, that’s a little bit about Lion King: Scar’s Life in which he didn’t have a family but in the sequel he did have one (weird).
Going back, the sequel is loosely based on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Simba’s daughter, Kiara falls in love with an outsider lion who called himself Kovu. Now Kovu is one of the young lions in Scar’s pride so he is definitely forbidden from Simba’s pride. The Shakespearean twist: The two cubs can’t be together because daddy won’t let them. End of story.

2011
2011 is an important year for me. I asked Mum which year is the most stressful and she talked about the previous years when we were actually all struggling.
I agreed.
But 2011 is when I started to grow up and see things more clearly. It might sounds good but how I become like this right now is because of the trials and challenges I faced.
Besides, they always say that you can’t make a rainbow without a rain.
So this year is pretty much raining. Of course I had happy moments but before I actually get through something, I had to experienced something rather unexpectedly painful.
I made a lot of mistakes but surprisingly, those led me into something significant. Without such things, I wouldn’t be able to know what I actually want.
But whatever happened in 2011 will always be there. I can’t no longer change the things I want and besides, it’s pretty pointless regretting stuff. So I am very thankful to God, my family, friends (old and new ones) and the other people I met from different walks of life — without them, I wouldn’t really know what my life would really be.

My uni friends who totally made my university life easier and fun!

So this is my 2011! In six hours, it will be 2012 in New Zealand. But wherever you are in the world, what was your 2011 like and are you ready for 2012?
Plans for tomorrow
So tomorrow is the last day and Saturday of 2011. I had lots of memories and they just changed my ideas or whatnot. I faced heaps of unexpected challenges and every time I think about those things, all I can do is thank God. Honestly without those bad times, I wouldn’t be like this right now.
Anyway, enough with the drama and here are my plans for tomorrow:
- General house cleaning (we got some relatives coming over on the 1st)
- Prepare for New Year’s Eve
- Church
- Eat! Eat! Eat!!!
- Movie marathon
- Countdown
- EAT! EAT! EAT!!
- I will call it a night/day.
- I would thank God for giving me 2011 :)
